One of the reason why working in CMC is so special, is that every project is completely different from the previous one. This means facing up to new challenges every time.
Vanni Cuoghi and Marco Marangoni, the owners of CMC Caravan, faced uncountable challeges during their 30-year experience in the management of the Company.
They dedicate their career to creating the best living trailer they possibly can, and this effort led CMC Caravan to an excellent reputation.
The process starts when the Customer comes for the first time to visit the factory. The first thing is to define the floorplan. When the layout is granted, the technical dpt. starts with the parametric and with the mechanical drawings. At the same time, the design dpt. works on the interiors, to define shapes, materials and colours.
“Each trailer reflects the Customers’ personality, their habits and their tastes. It’s like a tailored suite, and we take care of our trailer like a tailor does with his suites, and with his Customers. That’s why we’re always in touch with our Customer, directly or per E-mail or Whatsapp, to collect as many information as possible from them.” Marco said.
CMC’s sales team speak to the clients on a regular basis and collect more in-depth technical information and further feedback about design.
The designers use AutoCAD for the living trailer design, and sophisticated 3D graphic design software to create visual representations of the furniture that will go into each model.
As all our furniture are made in-house, the software enables the team to design and piece together the whole interior long before the plans hit the factory floor.
The manufacturing process starts in our carpentry, with the preparation of the axles and the preparation of the steel frame.
“When the steel frame of one of our trailers begins, it’s time for the commercial and technical dtp to start with a new project”.
The manufacturing process in CMC Caravan is fully crafted. Our wood carpenter forges all his art in our CMC furniture, as well as our painters take care of our huge structures with a maniacal precision.
The production, from the beginning to the delivery, takes between 12 and 18 months. It’s something that shapes slowly, that changes many and many times, that involves people, minds and hearts.
“Everytime a trailer leaves the factory, is like letting a piece of our heart go away”, Vanni says.
A living trailer is much more than a product. Is our piece of art, our creation, and it involves so many feelings during the production period that are impossible to forget. And, even more important, we are proud to say that this long period gives us the chance to establish nice friendships, and we always keep in touch with our Customer.
It is a never-ending cycle which sees CMC Caravan’s Caravan getting better and better every year.
“We’re always trying to improve on what we did before,” said Marco. “That’s way we never stop, we’re always thinking of the next big thing, and that’s what has kept me and Vanni hooked on caravans for the past 30+ years.”
